Celebrating 60 Years of Teaching Excellence
|Celebrating 60 Years of Teaching Excellence|
UKZN’s Discipline of Nursing, a World Health Organisation Collaborating Centre, will be celebrating its rich history of excellence and innovation this year which marks the 60th Anniversary of the Discipline.
We take this opportunity to recognise where the Nursing Discipline has come from, where it is today, and its core thinking towards the future. Our day’s conference is hence aptly titled “Innovative strategies: promoting and advancing meaningful and responsive nursing leadership”.
The four core areas of meaningful responsive nursing leadership are conceptualized as nursing leadership within; practice, education, research and health care systems management. This theme will be highlighted through presentations that explore successes, best practices, challenges and lessons learned in developing Nursing and Midwifery leaders locally, regionally and internationally.
The conference proceedings will inform recommendations regarding advancing meaningful and responsive nursing leadership.
To commemorate our rich history, we are also hosting a Gala Dinner which will celebrate the inauguration of new STTI UKZN Chapter members.
We will end off the proceedings with ensembles from UKZN’s own internationally renowned jazz musician, Professor Salim Washington accompanied by our Music students.
